It arrived after a four-year hiatus, and just 15 days after his historic induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame on June 15, 2017. It's certainly a feat when you're one of the most successful hip-hop artists in America. Since 1996, Jay-Z continues to leave his mark on the world, from hip-hop and beyond, by releasing material favored by the masses. It would seem that Jay wouldn't have as much time to commit to music than he did back then, considering his many other entrepreneurial endeavors and father responsibilities. But he's still putting in work; his 12th studio album, 'Magna Carta Holy Grail,' will be dropping worldwide on July 7. Jay Z Reminder Song ListenIn anticipation of 'Magna Carta Holy Grail,' Billboard has ranked Jay-Z's Top 20 Billboard hits. There’s no doubt about it: and are one of the most influential duos in hip-hop’s history. Though they’re each their own solo act, the two are also equally intertwined in each other’s history. Jay gave Kanye a spot in Roc Nation as a producer, and then later, as a rapper, and likewise, Kanye is behind the majority of Jay’s beats in the 2000s. Who knows where Jay and Kanye would be at today if they hadn’t met each other - nevermind that, where would hip-hop be today if they hadn’t met? But the chemistry goes beyond their industry moves: when Hov and Ye hop on a track together, it’s a hit every time. You can feel the friendly fighting spirit between them as they trade verses and bars, and you can catch them playing each other’s hype-man on plenty of their shared songs. However, family., while Hov seemingly targeted Kanye with lyrics on 4:44's 'Kill Jay-Z.' The ire between the two apparently dates back to a. So before “The Throne” gets any more divided, we’ve compiled what we believe to be the top 10 Jay Z and Kanye West collaborations to come out over the course of their careers-- songs where both artists are rapping. These songs are presented in no particular order. Stay tuned for our sister list tomorrow, where we will cover the best Kanye West-produced-Jay-Z tracks. Also, for your own education, our history of Jay and Kanye’s beef that’s developed over the course of the last year. Photo Credit: Frank Micelotta/Getty Images. As the first hit radio single released prior to The Blueprint 3, “Run This Town” held a lot at stake in terms of building hype for Jay’s new album. When you bring out (and, NBD) for verse and hook duty, it’s hard to go wrong. A lot of listeners will say that Kanye outshines Jay on his own track, though let's be real - the whole song is one big Roc Nation victory lap that contains just enough swagger and catchiness to make it impossible to hate any part of it. Jay Z & Kanye West - N*ggas in Paris. “We’re gonna skate to one song, and one song only.” In what might be their most hype-inducing, memorable and potentially best collaboration to date, Jay and Kanye blessed the world with “N*ggas in Paris,” a nonstop wild ride of a song that only got better when put on repeat. “Again!” Jay shouted to the crowds at the Watch The Throne Tour as him and Kanye went in for their 12th rendition of the track, a decision always met by roars of appreciation from the audience. Kanye West (featuring Jay Z, Pusha T, Cyhi The Prynce, Swizz Beatz & RZA) - So Appalled. In the plethora of hits from Watch The Throne, “Otis” is the most feel-good of them all. On the surface, Jay and Kanye are relentlessly bragging to one another, but at it’s core the song is all about enjoying life and rolling with the punches. The late blues singer Otis Redding is soulfully sampled throughout the track to add just that one extra layer of warmth, and it’s actually incredible how vocals from half a century ago flow so well into Jay proclaiming “I invented swag.” Kanye West (featuring Jay Z) - Diamonds From Sierra Leone (Remix). This is the classic Kanye x track. The song’s over a decade old at this point, if you can believe it, yet Kanye's signature sampling production on here is still fresh as ever, not to mention the bars each rapper brings. Interestingly, it’s an early look into Kanye’s thoughts on a subject matter he would later expand upon in Yeezus, though Jay steals the spotlight when he hops in mid-verse and spits one of his most memorable lines: “I’m not a businessman, I’m a business, man!” Jay Z & Kanye West (featuring Frank Ocean & The-Dream) - No Church In The Wild. Very reminiscent of “Run This Town”’s rebellious excellency, “No Church In The Wild” is much more in-depth look into a world where Jay and Kanye share the throne. The darker lyrics also tackle their takes on religious worship, with lines like “Lies on the lips of a priest / Thanksgiving disguised as a feast” and 'Two tattoos: one read 'No Apologies' / The other said 'Love is cursed by monogamy' serving as perfect examples of where they see faults in the status quo. Jay Z & Kanye West - Murder To Excellence. This track is the true centerpiece to Watch The Throne even if it’s often outshined by the more radio-centric songs. “Murder To Excellence” is hard look at the inner-racial divisions created by both black violence and black excellence; where Kanye raps about how “ 314 soldiers died in Iraq, 509 died in Chicago ” while Jay explains how he meets less and less black people as he gets wealthier. It’s a song that simultaneously invites change and spreads the love for black culture - two sides of a coin that are inherently hard to combine, but if anyone can lyrically bridge that gap, it would be Jay and Kanye. Kanye West (featuring Jay Z & J. Ivy) - Never Let Me Down. Download lagu terpopuler saat ini. Lagu lagu bahasa Inggris memang sangat digemari di Indonesia. “Never Let Me Down,” although not often considered the shining track off of Kanye’s debut album, is representative of a very pivotal moment in hip-hop: Jay and Kanye rapping together. And not just the duo sharing vocal duty, but the fact that Jay supported Kanye’s rap career in the first place. When Jay let Kanye step into the Roc Nation recording booths, he changed the course of hip-hop history forever, and even if the two have been at odds recently, I think it’s fair to say that Kanye definitely didn’t let down. (featuring Jay Z, Kanye West & Lil Wayne) - Swagga Like Us.
